What is SHUZZ?

SHUZZ (pronounced shoes) is a non-profit organization that exist to provide new shoes and lower-leg medical surgery to children in need around the world.

Who started SHUZZ?

After hearing the devastation of the Haiti earthquake in 2011, Rita Lombardo and a close friend wanted to do something to make a difference. They purchased their flight online and purchased 300 pairs of new shoes. Upon arriving in Haiti, they traveled to a orphanage and gave away the shoes to all the children in need.

In returning to Florida, they realized how great a need for shoes is and decided to start non-profit organization SHUZZ (pronounced shoes).

SHUZZ has a 100% model that founder, Rita Lombardo, stays true to. All of the money donated to the organization goes directly toward providing new shoes to children who need them most in the world.

Why SHUZZ?

Due to lack of proper footwear, children around the world are suffering from foot-borne diseases transmitted through contaminated soil.

Proper fitting footwear is extremely important in order to reduce trauma, hookworm and parasitic diseases that enter the bare foot.

We believe that delivering shoes to children in areas affected by these diseases will allow them to heal, prevent diseases, go to school, play and ultimately, their life into a better future without pain or injury.

We know that over 34% of the world’s population live in less than $2 a day and are unable to purchase basic necessities like food and clothing. [1] More than 1.5 billion people are infected with parasitic diseases transmitted through contaminated soil that could be prevented by wearing proper footwear.[1] More than 1.5 billion people are infected with parasitic diseases transmitted through contaminated soil that could be prevented by wearing proper footwear.
