Shuzz Announces Details of Annual Back 2 School Program, Art Competition & Shoe Drive

West Palm Beach, FL – July 1, 2016 – The Shuzz Fund, a non-profit organization that provides shoes to children in poverty-stricken areas, announced details of its 2016 Back 2 School Shoe Drive. Each summer, Shuzz hosts its two week campaign that seeks to increase awareness and raise money to purchase new sneakers and athletic cleats for children in South Florida. Shuzz works in partnership with several organizations to identify children in need and coordinate distribution efforts. This year is particularly special as the program was kicked off with an art contest.

The organization ran an online contest where Benji Stanton, an art teacher in Compton, had his students submit work and the Shuzz community voted. We have named Gael Cruz the winner for his spectacular piece that received the most votes. Each piece of art featured shoes, and Cruz’s work will be featured in our Back 2 School campaigns and advertisements. Each student that participated will be given a new pair of shoes, and Cruz won the ultimate prize – a brand new pair of Adidas Superstar sneakers!

The program each year asks for people to give a small $5 donation. Each contributor will put a new pair of school shoes on the feet of a child who needs them and will not receive them otherwise. Shuzz has set a goal to raise $10,000 by the end of July.

In addition to online fundraising, Tanzy Restaurant in Boca Raton is hosting the Annual Shuzz Back 2 School Kickoff. The event will take place Monday, July 18 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Through ticket sales alone, the fundraiser will provide more than 1,000 pairs of new shoes to children locally. Each guest will enjoy complimentary cocktails and passed appetizers. Purchase your tickets here:

The program supports Florida counties Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, and also the Greater Los Angeles area in California.
