Shuzz Founder Honored as Humanitarian of the Year

Hope for Humanity Worldwide recognizes Lombardo’s significant impact on children in poverty-stricken communities globally

West Palm Beach, FL – April 5, 2017 – The Shuzz Fund, a non-profit organization that provides shoes and medical relief to children in poverty-stricken areas, today announced that its Founder and President Rita Lombardo has been recognized as Humanitarian of the Year by Hope for Humanity Worldwide. Lombardo hopes that this recognition will only drive support for Shuzz and awareness of the simple needs of children in the poorest communities: a pair of shoes.

You may not think shoes are desperately needed when considering food, water, and shelter as primary necessities. But 50 percent of the world’s population is without proper footwear, meaning half of the world is subject to injury and life threatening disease due to the lack of a pair of shoes. That means that 300 million children worldwide live with a very high risk because they do not have a proper pair of shoes. Ever since Lombardo’s trip to Haiti seven years ago, her mission has been to provide new shoes to children who need them the most in this world.

The Shuzz mission has always been to operate primarily on a volunteer basis, offer new and sustainable shoes to children in impoverished communities all over the world and provide Back to School programs that donate athletic shoes to children. In late 2014, the organization added medical relief efforts to its list of priorities. To support future shoe donations and medical relief missions, please donate.

Rita’s work with Shuzz is extraordinary, and it’s not even her full time job – she does it solely in her personal time. She is a prime example of someone you look at and say “I don’t know how she does it.” She is the Owner and Managing Partner of Lombardo Advertising, where she uses two decades of experience in branding and creative marketing to lead the agency and its clients to success. Lombardo Advertising has been recognized by Inc. 5000 and South Florida Business Journal.

You can also give back by attending the VII Annual SHUZZ | ART | FASHION Show on Saturday, September 16, 2017. 100% of ticket sales are given to the charity to support its global missions.
